- quick reflexes; reacts to the ball and makes plays on it when there is an opportunity - usually takes good angles but when he doesn't he has good recovery speed; doesn't quit on plays - sound fundamentals - good at maintaining his gap assignments and reading plays - strong tackler - displays good instincts; functions within the defense - tendency to tackle high; but does a good job of wrapping up - doesn't 'explode' off the ball but gets thru holes and off blocks so efficiently that it makes up for it - doesn't seem to take false steps; doesn't get caught out of position - a run stuffer; didn't see much in terms of dropping into pass coverage so can't evaluate that aspect of his game - room to add muscle mass & strength - has build & ability to potentially play FS - smart player who puts himself in good positions to make plays
