Clemson avenged their loss from a couple weeks ago against Coastal Carolina in Conway by beating the Chants in Tuesday's game, 6-1.
The Tigers fired up their offense in the second inning as Chris Williams hit a solo homer. It would be just the first of many long balls in the game for Clemson.
Clemson notched three runs in the fifth inning. Jordan Greene and Logan Davidson each drove in runs during the inning; Greene hit a two-run homer to left field and Davidson followed suit in his at-bat.
Spencer Strider earned the win for the Tigers. He went six and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out seven and threw 108 total pitches (61 strikes, 47 balls). Alex Schnell and Travis Marr entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Shaddon Peavyhouse took the loss for Coastal Carolina. He lasted three innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out two.
Clemson launched four home runs on the day. Grayson Byrd had a homer in the seventh inning. Davidson put one out in the fifth inning. Greene had a long ball in the fifth inning. Williams went for the long ball in the second inning.
Greene led Clemson with two hits in four at bats. Clemson was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kyle Wilkie had the most chances in the field with ten.
Coastal Carolina was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Seth Lancaster made the most plays with eight.
Clemson moves to 23-6 overall on the year and will go into a weekend series in South Bend, Indiana with the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame as they look to continue the hot-hitting streak they have been on as of late.
