Clemson Adds to 2019 Class With Huge Recruiting Weekend

During last year's Spring Game Weekend, Clemson received numerous commitments including the nation's top defense prospect Xavier Thomas.

This year seems no different as a slew of talented 2019 prospects committed to Clemson over the weekend.

Bryton Constantin

Beginning on Friday afternoon, linebacker Bryton Constantin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana announced his verbal commitment. Constantin, 6-2 and 220 pounds, is the top linebacker in Louisiana for 2019. He chose the Tigers over offers from top schools including Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and TCU.

As a junior this past season, Constantin had 104 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and a pick-six interception. He was also named first team All-State.

Frank Ladson

Ladson, a five-star wide receiver from Miami, Florida, agave his verbal commitment to Clemson on Saturday. A former Gators commit, Ladson is the top receiver in Florida for 2019. At 6-1 and 70 pounds, Ladson had 29 catches for 687 yards and 9 touchdowns in his junior season.

Ladson landed a Clemson offer the day after he decommitted from Florida. He also had offers from Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Miami, FSU, and Penn State, among others.

Taisun Phommachanh

The nation's top dual-threat quarterback Taisun Phommachanh joined the Tigers 2019 class on Saturday before the Orange and White game. A four-star, Phommachanh is the nation's 96th overall prospect. He threw for 2,253 yards and 25 touchdowns with only one interception and used his legs for 633 yards and 17 additional scores last season.

He chose the Tigers over offers from Florida, FSU, LSU, Michigan, Penn State, and South Carolina among others.

Lannden Zanders

Joining the 2019 class on Saturday, safety prospect Lannden Zanders chose the Tigers. From Shelby, North Carolina, Zanders had 47 tackles, including 6 for loss, and 4 interceptions last season.

He committed to the Tigers over top offers from Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Maryland, and Vanderbilt.

The 2019 Class

Constantin, Ladson, Phommachanh, and Zanders join safety Joseph Charleston, wide receiver Brannon Spector, tight end Jaelyn Law, and punter Aidan Swanson in the 2019 recruiting class for Clemson.

In the 247 Sports team rankings, Clemson has the 11th ranked class in the country for 2019.
