The South Carolina Gamecocks advanced to their 13th Super Regional in school history [Supers were introduced to college postseason in 1999] after sweeping the Greenville Regional with wins over Ohio St (8-3), East Carolina (4-2) and a win over UNC-Wilmington on Monday (8-4).
The Gamecocks played in Fayetteville earlier in the season in a three game series but lost it two games to one [W 3-2, L 2-0, L 3-0]. South Carolina was the only team in the SEC to win a game on the Razorbacks home field this season though.
The two teams also met up in the SEC Tournament and Arkansas defeated the Gamecocks again by a score of 13-8.
Arkansas has been one of the better hitting teams in the SEC this year and it will be a tough task for the Gamecocks to steal this Super from them. But these two teams know each other well enough now that it could go either way.
Game 1: Saturday, June 9 - 6:30pm EDT (ESPN 2)
Game 2: Sunday, June 10 - 3:00pm EDT (ESPN)
Game 3 (if necessary): Monday, June 11 - 7:00pm EDT (ESPN)
