Five-star offensive tackle Darnell Wright (Huntington, WV) included Clemson in a list of Top 10 schools he released Thursday, via his Twitter account. Clemson was joined by Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, Southern Cal, and Tennessee in the Top 10.
Wright is a massive individual, measuring in at 6'6"/320 pounds. He is rated as highly as the #9 overall prospect in America by 247 Sports and the #2 offensive tackle prospect.
Wright is a priority for Clemson recruiting in 2019, and would fill a major position of need along the offensive line. He would most likely be a day-one starter and an immediate impact player. Clemson offered Wright in January of this year, but he has yet to visit the campus.
He most recently visited North Carolina for their football camp in June. Ohio State is considered the favorite to land Wright, as he is originally from the Columbus, Ohio area before moving to West Virginia.
Wright was invited to attend the All-In Cookout this weekend and would have been a headline visitor. However, he has chosen to visit Alabama this weekend for a similar recruiting event.
