The past two recruiting cycles have panned out well for Clemson when it comes to landing a young stud at the running back position.

In the 2017 class, they picked up Travis Etienne in the eleventh hour out of Louisiana and in the 2018 cycle they snagged Lyn-J Dixon out of Butler, GA from teams like Oklahoma State, Alabama and more.

Both backs have exploded onto the scene at Clemson. Etienne was up for the Doak Walker Award after his sophomore campaign and Dixon averaged 9.6 yards per carry with 96 carries on the season in his first year with the Tigers.

The 2019 class looks to continue the Tiger's solid string of running backs with incoming four-star talent, Chez Mellusi.

Mellusi is rated a four-star prospect by the top three recruiting services (247sports, Rivals, ESPN).

He played at Naples High School in Naples, FL. In his sophomore and junior seasons, he rushed for a combined 2086 yards on 238 carries with 29 rushing touchdowns.

In his senior season, he rushed for 1819 yards on 183 carries and scored 21 rushing touchdowns. He also fumbled three times but only lost one.

Mellusi finished his high school career with 3,905 yards rushing and 50 rushing touchdowns; 4,409 total yards and 55 total touchdowns.

He received offers from a multitude of schools including Clemson, South Carolina, Auburn, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, UNC, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, UCF, Southern Cal and Virginia.

He will be competing in the All-American Bowl on January 5 that takes place in San Antonio, TX. He will not enroll at Clemson until summer of 2019.
