Iron Quarterback, Luis Perez, Stands Out in First Game

by Austin Silvey @SilveyESP

While John Wolford (Arizona Hotshots) and Garrett Gilbert (Orlando Apollos) led their teams to the highest scoring totals in week one of the AAF, the most impressive looking quarterback was Luis Perez (Birmingham Iron).

He didn't throw any touchdowns in the game but he also remained mistake free with no interceptions.

He was on target with the majority of his passes and remained poised under pressure. He displayed the ability to throw down the field with accuracy, velocity and touch respectively.

He was also quick to take whatever the defense gave him and that is an extremely underrated quality in a quarterback prospect -- especially in today's highlight-centered sports world.

He had a very composed and mature pocket presence and was quick to react to pressure. He protected the ball while being hit and multiple times got it out of his hands quickly before the defender reached him.

His receivers also dropped six passes in the game.

Perez belongs on an NFL roster in my opinion. From the very first offensive drive he stood out and that doesn't happen very often.

He is one of the players to keep an eye on in the Alliance this season.

Below is a video with every pass that Perez made in game vs Memphis. Prepare to be amazed.
