According to The Spun, Tom Brady's agent, Don Yee, is interested in getting Trevor Lawrence to come play for his developmental football league. Yee is starting a league called Pacific Pro Football. The league intends to pay players, help with endorsements and allow them to leave when they are eligible to.
Pro Football Talk is referenced in the article and cites some statements from Yee when he was on with 104.5 The Zone out of Nashville, TN.
Yee is quoted saying, "Trevor Lawrence at Clemson, we would like to make him a player offer right away. He would be a professional and he would learn an NFL-style game before he declares for the draft."
With more of these developmental leagues popping up, it's not as farfetched as we probably think that one day (soon) players will begin to take part in them rather than going to college.
All that said, Lawrence doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that is interested in that opportunity right now. I think he is firm in his Clemson commitment and looks forward to playing for the Tigers the next two seasons.
