CLEMSON, SC -- The Tigers have won three straight games since losing their opener to Virginia Tech; all of which have been at home. They host their final home until December 15 (vs South Carolina) tonight as they play host to Alabama A&M.
Clemson and Alabama A&M have never played a game against each other.
Clemson is 5-0 all-time against members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
The Tigers own two wins over Texas Southern and a victory each over Prairie View A&M, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Alabama State.
Head Coach Brad Brownell is 4-0 against the conference and is 3-0 while at Clemson with two wins over Texas Southern and a victory over Alabama State.
While at Wright State, Brownell earned a win over Mississippi Valley State.
• In Clemson’s win over Detroit Mercy on Nov. 17, the Tigers boasted three scorers with at least 18 points.
Hunter Tyson (20), Aamir Simms (19) and Tevin Mack (18) all helped lead the Tigers to a season-high 87 points and a decisive 22-point victory.
As a collective group, they finished 24-for-36 from the floor (66.7 percent).
It also marked the first time in nearly 12 seasons that the Tigers have accomplished that feat.
You’d have to go back to March 8, 2009 when the Tigers’ Demontez Stitt (21), K.C. Rivers (21) and Trevor Booker (18) paced Clemson in a 96-88 loss to Wake Forest.
In Brad Brownell’s tenure as head coach at Clemson, the Tigers are a combined 44-2 when they allow 50 or less points to its opponent.
The Tigers have won their last 23 contests in which they have allowed 50 or less points (23-0).
In just the Tigers’ second game of the 2019-20 season, they held Presbyterian to just 45 points, marking the first time this season they have held an opponent under the 50-point threshold.
Clemson went 4-0 during 2018-19 in such games.
The Tigers topped Pittsburgh with a 62-48 victory on the road on Feb. 27.
Clemson rolled Georgia Tech on the road on Feb. 6, 65-42, and clinching the fewest points allowed in consecutive ACC games in Clemson history.
The Tigers dominated Wake Forest on Feb. 3, 64-37, holding the Demon Deacons to the lowest point total allowed in an ACC game under Brownell.
The 37 points ties Georgia Tech from a Feb. 21, 2012, 56-37, Tiger victory.
The 40th win came on Nov. 20 in the Cayman Islands Classic semifinals with a 64-49 win over Georgia.
The only losses on the record are losses to Virginia (49-47, Feb. 2, 2011) and Miami (45-43, Feb. 17, 2013).
Al-Amir Dawes is leading the Tigers with 3.3 assists per game - putting him on pace for 99 this season in 30 regular season games.
That equated average of 99 would place Dawes second all-time in program history for assists in a single season by a freshman.
Clemson Hall of Famer Grayson Marshall holds the record with a staggering 192 assists in 1984-85.
Chase Hunter is not far behind Dawes, averaging 2.8 assists - on pace for 84 this season.
