Pro Football Focus has graded all the 2019 first round NFL Draft picks through the first seven weeks of the season. Here is a look at how the former Clemson players have graded out so far with their respective teams...
PICK NO. 4: EDGE CLELIN FERRELL, OAKLAND RAIDERS
- 2019 overall grade: 46.8 -
The fourth overall pick once again failed to surpass the 60.0 threshold, this week ending his game with an overall game grade of just 51.8. He did manage to record a quarterback hurry on one of his 24 pass-rush snaps, but that was really the only contribution he made to the Raiders’ defensive efforts. Through seven weeks, he’s won just 6.5% of his 139 pass-rush matchups, a figure that ranks 67th among 69 qualifying edge defenders.
PICK NO. 13: DI CHRISTIAN WILKINS, MIAMI DOLPHINS
- 2019 overall grade: 61.0 -
Wilkins had earned a 70.0-plus overall grade in each of his past two games before Week 7, so hopes were high for the first-round interior defender this week. Unfortunately, he was ejected on the second play of the game for throwing a punch at Bills’ offensive lineman Cody Ford. Wilkins left the game with zeros across the stat sheet and an overall game grade of 26.7.
PICK NO. 17: DI DEXTER LAWRENCE, NEW YORK GIANTS
- 2019 overall grade: 81.8 -
Lawrence’s run of highly graded games came to an end this week against the Cardinals, as the first-round interior defender ended the game with a grade of just 52.8, his lowest mark since Week 1. He failed to record a quarterback pressure on any of his 15 pass-rushing opportunities in the game, but he did manage to find the stat sheet with two defensive stops against the run.
