by Austin Silvey @SilveyESP

ROEBUCK, SC -- On Wednesday, October 23, the Clemson Men's Basketball program landed the top player in South Carolina in the 2020 recruiting class in PJ Hall (Dorman). Hall is a four-star prospect according to 247sports and is ranked the number one player in the state. He is ranked as the ninth best Power Forward and the 61st player in the country.

Hall had narrowed down his choices to Clemson and Virginia Tech and ultimately decided to go with the Tigers. He had taken official visits recently to Clemson, Florida and Virginia Tech while cancelling trips to Tennessee and Georgia Tech.

Hall is the third highest rated Clemson recruit according to 247sports ranking system behind Milton Jennings and Noel Johnson.

Jerry Meyer, Director of Basketball Scouting at 247, evaluated Hall as a prospect and projects him as a Power-5 Starter and compares him to Matt Costello, formerly with the San Antonio Spurs. Here is the full evaluation & analysis he gave on Hall...

"A physical banger with a strong physique. Has good feet but isn't overly athletic. Is more of a below-the-rim player. Utilizes angles and leverage. Competitive player. Has good touch in the paint. Capable with the ball as a shooter, handler and passer for a four man. Positional rebounder and defender."

Hall is the first commitment to the Tigers for the 2020 class.
