South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp announced Tuesday night that redshirt junior linebacker Antoine Wilder and redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Aaron Thompson have decided to transfer from the program.
The 6-foot-3, 300 pound Thompson was redshirted in 2016, but he didn’t play last season either due to a shoulder injury. He was a three-star prospect in high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Thompson chose the Gamecocks as a recruit over offers from Clemson and Tennessee among others.
Antoine Wilder had four career starts and had seven tackles in eight games last season. Wilder, 5-foot-10 and 198 pounds, played at outside linebacker, safety and nickel for the Gamecocks. He also was a three-star prospect in high school in Atlanta, Georgia.
